While polymer clay is still king when it comes to making ideas come to love, there are some looks that just shine – literally – with resin.

I watched a ton of tutorials and fell in love with a faux “dichroic glass” technique that I practiced for weeks, and added a few bits of my own touch before coming up with a result that I became obsessed with.  The tutorial was limited to dark-backed pieces so I went on to experiment to get a lighter version as well. And wow…. the results are extremely beautiful, eye-catching, sparkly pieces that absolutely stun in the sun, and in other forms of direct light.

I know that I just had to use this technique in a jewelry set.

I had decided I wanted to do something ocean-themed for summer and actually already had a pile of polymer pieces done and ready to go by the time I perfected my glass technique. So I put them together just to see and found that they looked amazing. Thus the Starry Summer Nights collection was borne.
